Questo album e’ stato registrato nel 2007 tra New York e Torino (a casa)
Quando Nico Di Battista, che conoscevo per le sue scorribande con James Senese e Napoli Centrale e il suo bellissimo suono su Scrivimi di Nino Bonocore, mi propose di fare qualcosa dedicato alla canzone napoletana, presi tempo. In troppi hanno riletto Napoli, non sempre con risultati eccelsi. Poi una notte sognai la melodia di O’ Sole mio, larghissima, mentre volavo. IL giorno dopo decisi per il si ed iniziai a pensare agli strumenti che avrei usato, praticamente solo percussioni e piatti e alle chiavi di lettura. Nico fece lo stesso e bam!
E’ diventato uno dei miei album che riascolto piu’ volentieri. IL complimento più bello e gratificante (quelli che non vedi sulle riviste o nei top questo o quello..), venne dal grande Kenny Wheeler che mi chiamo’ due settimane dopo avergli dato il cd per ringraziarmi/ci del nostro lavoro, perche’ per lui quella era Musica dal Mondo.

This album was recorded in 2007 between New York and Turin (at home)
When Nico Di Battista, whom I knew for his raids with James Senese and Napoli Centrale and his beautiful sound on Nino Bonocore's Scrivimi, he asked me to do something dedicated to the Neapolitan song, I took time. Too many have reread Naples, not always with excellent results. Then one night I dreamed of the melody of O ’Sole mio, very wide, while I was flying. THE next day I decided yes and I started thinking about the instruments I would use, practically only percussion and cymbals and the keys to reading. Nico did the same and bam!
It has become one of my albums that I listen to more willingly. THE most beautiful and gratifying compliment (those you don't see in the magazines or in the top this or that ..), came from the great Kenny Wheeler who called me two weeks after giving him the CD to thank me for our work, because for that was Music from the World.
